The Scout Association - St Augustines Group: The original Boy Scouts Association was founded by Lord Baden-Powell in England in 1908 and quickly grew into a world-wide organisation, which it remains to this day. Here at St Augustines, the Scout Group is made up as follows, and all sections meet in the Scout Headquarters which is situated alongside the vicarage.
The Guiding Association - St Augustines Group: Lord Baden-Powell founded the Guiding Association in 1910. Such was the enthusiasm for Guiding that It soon spread world-wide and since the early days countless millions have made the Guide promise. Today there are nearly nine million girls and women In Guiding in countries all over the world. Here at St Augustines we are fortunate to have two Rainbow units (5 years old and over) and three Brownie units (7 years old and over). Each unit meets weekly during term time and provides a balanced programme of activities giving the girls an opportunity to learn new skills working in a group and individually and of course to have lots of fun both In and out of doors. There is also the chance to take part in organised events and outings and unit holidays.
