The present
organist is Roy Meek, whose association with this organ started when he was appointed
organist of Christ Church in 1958 and has continued since the organ was transferred from
that church to its present home in St Augustines. Prior to this, he had been a
chorister at St Mary's Church in Luton where he first learnt to play the organ, first
under Donald Burrows, and subsequently with Dr Kenneth Abbott. At 14, he was playing
for parts of the service, occasionally in the presence of the Queen and Prince Philip, who
were regular visitors. |
